Water Buffalo Milk

Water Buffalo milk is extremely nutritious. On average water buffalo milk follow a “rule of 3s.” They give you about 1/3 the milk compared to cows (cattle) but you will get about 3x the butterfat. The fat droplets are much smaller than cows and so takes a bit longer to separate from the rest of the milk for a cream-line and in our experience much of it seems to remain suspended in the milk. Water buffalo milk has 58% more calcium, 40% more protein, and 43% less cholesterol compared to cow’s milk. Water buffalo ware naturally A2/A2 and so the milk is easier to digest for many people.

To get raw milk in Colorado, it’s very easy!  All you need to do is become a member of our Unincorporated Private Association. You are not buying raw milk, instead you are becoming a private member, and your membership dues go towards a share of a herd to support the herd’s boarding cost, and then you are gifted milk proportional to your share (as availability allows). Thus, the term “milk shares”. For details you can visit our website at myrawmilk.org. Membership forms are attached to the side of this Refrigerator.

You can do a 1-time membership and get the raw milk for this one time pick up, as available. Any jars that do not have a name on them are available for you to take.

1 Pint Buffalo Milk Share …………………membership dues is $8 (+$2 jar deposit) = $10 Total

1 Quart Buffalo Milk Share …………………membership dues is $15 (+$5 Jar deposit) = $20 Total

1 Half Gallon Buffalo Milk Share ………membership dues is $25 (+$10 Jar deposit) = $35 Total

When you bring back your jar washed and cleaned, you will not need to pay another jar deposit, and will only pay the membership fee listed. Otherwise, please pay the total amount listed.

***NOTICE: To ensure the quality of your milk, please CLEAN and WASH your jars and allow them to DRY adequately. The milk will be poured into your jars as they are when you return them to us. Your names will be on your jars and that is how we will keep track. Your jars will NOT be washed again on site. We simply don’t have the water to do that and be sustainable. Thank you for your understanding.
